THE PROBLEM

Is this your IT reality?

Brisbane manufacturers run on uptime. When IT fails, production stops, and every minute costs money. Most manufacturing environments have grown their IT organically, ending up with flat networks where office systems and factory floor equipment sit side by side, no segmentation, no monitoring, and no incident plan. Add ransomware targeting to the mix (manufacturing is one of Australia's most attacked sectors) and the risk is real. Most IT providers have never set foot on a factory floor.

THE SHIFT

From reactive to production-ready.

Production halted by IT outagesMonitored infrastructure with fast response SLAs
OT and IT on the same flat networkSegmented networks isolating factory floor systems
Ransomware risk with no response planDetection, tested backups, documented incident playbook
Unmanaged devices across the plantAll endpoints enrolled, tracked, and patched
Compliance exposure with no roadmapStructured trajectory toward Essential 8 and ISO 27001

THE OUTCOME

What this looks like after 12 months.

After 12 months with Mino IT, Brisbane manufacturers have monitored, segmented IT infrastructure with production uptime protected, all devices enrolled, ransomware defences tested and in place, and a compliance trajectory that supports government contracts and insurance requirements.

  • Production-critical systems continuously monitored with fast-response SLAs.
  • OT/IT network segmentation isolating factory floor equipment from business systems.
  • All endpoints enrolled, managed, and patched, including ruggedised and shared devices.
  • Tested backup and incident response plan so a ransomware attack doesn't shut the plant down.
  • IT budget visibility with lifecycle planning aligned to production schedules.
  • Compliance trajectory toward Essential 8 and ISO 27001, ready for government and enterprise supply chain requirements.

SMB1001 Gold Certification Badge

SMB1001 Gold Certified

SMB1001 is a multi-tiered cybersecurity certification standard for small and medium businesses, published by Dynamic Standards International (DSI) and certified in Australia by CyberCert. Mino IT holds Gold certification, the tier insurers and procurement panels look for. Gold is a self-assessed tier: we certify our compliance against the SMB1001 controls covering identity management, access controls, data protection, incident response, and supply chain security.

For your business, choosing a Gold-certified provider means your IT partner has documented and certified its own security posture, not just promised it. It's a clear signal that we hold ourselves to the same standard we set for our clients.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common questions answered.

We schedule maintenance and updates outside of production hours and work closely with your operations team to understand shift patterns and critical windows. Remote monitoring means most issues are caught and resolved before they affect the floor, and when on-site attendance is required we coordinate access to minimise disruption.

OT (Operational Technology) refers to the systems that control physical processes: PLCs, SCADA, CNC machines, conveyor controllers. When these share a network with business IT (email, file servers, ERP), a ransomware attack or IT failure can directly impact production equipment. Segmentation creates a barrier between the two, so a compromise in one environment cannot easily spread to the other.

Manufacturers are targeted because the cost of downtime is extremely high, which creates pressure to pay ransom quickly. Many have aging OT equipment that cannot be easily patched, flat networks with no segmentation, and limited security controls. The Australian Cyber Security Centre has identified manufacturing as a high-risk sector. We protect Brisbane manufacturers with managed detection, tested offsite backups, and documented incident response.

Yes. We work alongside your existing OT vendors and ERP providers. Our role is to manage the IT infrastructure layer (network, servers, endpoints, backups, and security) while coordinating with your specialist equipment vendors where integration is needed. We document your full environment so support is consistent regardless of which engineer responds.

Most manufacturers are onboarded within two to four weeks. The process includes a full environment audit across office and plant, network assessment, device enrolment, security baselining, and documentation build-out. We manage the transition to minimise impact on production schedules.
